Summer 2011
In this digital, iphone, high speed world of ours, redundancy is almost built into electronic devices. The market rewards innovation, the
consumer demands it to be slimmer, faster, wider reaching than ever, yet people form queues to buy the latest new gizmo that makes their own, expensive device, out of date. It seems a contradiction, yet has driven on exploration and inventiveness since the day of the Luddites! Following this necessary trend, our new website has made the old one redundant. Soon you will be able to view your account, look up old orders, your own best sellers, keep track of your orders and plan your next one in your own time and get confirmation of receipt. Now I know that there are those of you who are proud of being ‘Luddites’ and look suspiciously at computers but practice makes perfect and you will find that they are ideal tools for researching any topic.
We are proud of our company, our new website and our range of products and I regard the latest move as a means of improving communication and accuracy. Technology changes quickly though and with it our expectations of the “new norm”, so please feel free to e-mail us with your suggestions for any further improvements after you have given it a few goes. We have plans for various upgrades and updates in the future and will be constantly aiming for improvement. Our addresses are on the website but mail@hiderfoods.co.uk is a good starting point.
I would like to highlight the fact that Mark Williams, our chief Sales guru has just completed 25 years service with the company. He is an experienced and accomplished member of staff, and we send him our congratulations.
Now for products: good news for a change in that both California and Turkey have had a good Spring, so the Almond and Apricot crops look good, and I am hopeful that prices will ease. However, a note of caution, despite the potential for abundant crops, rain at the wrong time, and more significantly increased world demand may upset any expectations.
New ranges and products: Atkins & Potts have discovered organic and have ranges of Sauces and Dressings to prove it. Artisan Biscuits have new Millers Toasts and Grate Britain Cheese Crackers. If you need a tin of Emergency Chocolate look no further than Bloomsbury. Bottle Green have more cordials under the Blossom Cottage label and Farrington Oils have a Balsamic Vinegar. From Italy the Corsini family have trusted us with their exquisite range of Tuscan Biscuits: Cantuccini, Biscotti, Amaretti and Crocculi, truly authentic and made without compromise on quality. Closer to home some changes to Fudges Bakery lines; a 130g range of Chocolate Coated Biscuits. Hider brand Cakes should be here, with Liquorice Wheels being an additional line in the Sweets range. Also arriving are the Snyder brand of Pretzels from the USA, and a new range of Chewing Gum from Peppersmith. Finally we have the Quibbles range of Snacks.
Enjoy the summer.
